On some devices system update may take a lot of time and during that time a system is practically unusable. There is also a reason while the screen shows not to shut down the PC.
Turning off a system during a normal task might result to loss of unsaved data but power outage or force shut down during system updates may result to half written registry files or corrupt windows.
When you turn off your system, then the computer goes through a series of step to ensure that your data is safe.
Force shutting the system might result to loss of unsaved data. There are many things going in background which the computer needs to handle before it shuts down.
Most important among this is the operating system itself and it also send message to every running program to wrap up everything before shutting down. This is important as these programs or services may be in middle of saving data to your disk, this could be simply saving files, program update, driver update, file download or modification of a registry key. So, if you turn off your computer directly then there are chances of data loss.
A half-written data will certainly result to corrupt files and programs. Plus, there are chances of loss of existing saved data as it was being modified.
